Keeping Passwords Safe

Passwords are a big issue when you belong to a lot of sites. It is NEVER a good idea to have the same password for all sites, especially not the same password for any site that contains private or financial information about yourself.. It doesn’t take a very sophisticated hacker to hack into your site if you use passwords like “123pass” abcdef “password”. As a matter of fact, there are websites that give lists of the most popular passwords, available and formatted to use in password cracking programs.
Since we’re talking about security, if you’re on facebook, you’ve probably seen all types of applications. Most are safe, but others are phishing applications. They look like fun, and they’re carefully disguised, but somewhere along the line, they ask you, and everyone you share the app with, a question like “What was your first pet’s name” RED FLAG That is a question that is commonly used when you need to reset your password, or recover it. I don’t even post my correct birth date on social networking sites!
